Daimler Truck sales rise 26 percent in Q3 2026 as electric vehicle sales fall sharply

LEINFELDEN-ECHTERDINGEN – Daimler Truck sold 91,260 trucks and buses worldwide in the third quarter of 2026, representing a 26 percent increase compared with the same period last year, when 72,277 vehicles were sold. Sales growth was particularly strong in North America and at Mercedes-Benz Trucks, while battery-electric vehicle sales declined by 28 percent.

Trucks North America recorded the strongest increase, selling 45,629 vehicles during the third quarter, compared with 30,225 units in Q3 2025. This represents year-on-year growth of 51 percent.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks also reported higher sales, with deliveries increasing by 13 percent from 35,818 vehicles in the third quarter of 2025 to 40,362 units in the corresponding period of 2026.

Daimler Buses sales decline

Daimler Buses experienced a decline in sales. The bus division sold 5,394 vehicles during the third quarter, compared with 6,443 units a year earlier, representing a decrease of 16 percent.

Battery-electric vehicle sales also fell significantly. Daimler Truck sold 1,207 battery-electric trucks and buses in Q3 2026, compared with 1,679 units during the same period in 2025. This represents a decline of 28 percent.

Nine-month sales increase by 8 percent

During the first nine months of 2026, Daimler Truck sold a total of 246,816 vehicles, an increase of 8 percent compared with 228,642 units in the corresponding period of 2025.

Trucks North America sold 116,748 vehicles during the first three quarters, up 8 percent from 107,797 units a year earlier.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks recorded sales of 113,818 vehicles, compared with 101,762 units during the first nine months of 2025, representing growth of 12 percent.

Daimler Buses sold 16,498 vehicles during the first nine months of 2026, compared with 19,676 units in the previous year, a decrease of 16 percent.

Battery-electric truck and bus sales for the nine-month period reached 3,354 units, down 2 percent from 3,431 vehicles during the same period last year.

Mitsubishi Fuso excluded from figures

Daimler Truck stated that the reported unit sales relate exclusively to continuing operations following the integration of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation into ARCHION on April 1, 2026.

The Group’s consolidated sales figures include eliminations resulting from transactions between business segments.

Daimler Truck will publish its detailed third-quarter financial and non-financial results on November 6, 2026, including key figures for the Group and its individual business segments.
