Ton van Ewijk acquires Van de Scheur Transport and Duijst Transport

CULEMBORG/VIANEN – Dutch transport company Ton van Ewijk, based in Culemborg, has acquired Van de Scheur Transport from Vianen and its subsidiary Duijst Transport Soest. The acquisition was officially completed on 1 October 2026, bringing together three family-owned transport and logistics companies.

The acquisition came about after Henk and Frank van de Scheur approached Ton van Ewijk to discuss combining the companies’ strengths and expertise. Henk van de Scheur reaching retirement age also played a role in the decision.

Following a period of discussions and preparations, the full acquisition was officially completed on Thursday, 1 October.

Frank van de Scheur will remain the familiar point of contact for the Vianen location for the time being. Both Van de Scheur Transport and Ton van Ewijk are family businesses, and the companies intend to preserve this personal character following the acquisition.

Broader range of transport services

The acquisition creates a broader portfolio of transport and logistics services. Ton van Ewijk has extensive experience in various types of transport, ranging from moving a single pallet to transporting and installing complete school and office interiors.

The company’s activities also include furniture transport, exhibition and event logistics, container transport, distribution, transport using semi-trailers equipped for truck-mounted forklifts, and specialised machinery transport.

The acquisition of Van de Scheur Transport also adds a number of specialist transport vehicles and semi-trailers to the fleet, including equipment specifically designed for machinery transport.

Duijst Transport also part of acquisition

Duijst Transport Soest is also included in the acquisition. The company specialises in transporting mattresses and other bedroom products.

Ton van Ewijk has a long history in furniture transport and has also previously been active in mattress transportation. According to the company, Duijst Transport therefore fits well with its existing activities and offers opportunities to further develop this specialisation.

24 trucks and 16,500 m² of warehouse capacity

The locations in Culemborg and Vianen will continue to operate together. By combining the employees, equipment, knowledge and experience of the different companies, the organisation aims to offer customers a more comprehensive range of transport and logistics services.

Following the acquisition, a total of 24 trucks are scheduled for transport operations each day across the Netherlands, Belgium and parts of Germany.

The combined warehouse capacity at the locations in Culemborg and Vianen amounts to 16,500 square metres.
