Febetra: border controls are costing transport millions

BRUSSELS - The Belgian transport federation Febetra says the terror threat already costing the Belgian transport about three million euros. The tighter border controls at the border with France keep thousands of truck drivers in daily traffic.

According to Febetra the higher costs will be passed in to the customers.

The Belgian Interior Minister Jan Jambon understands the frustration of the transport sector. But the tighter controls will remain as long as necessary. "We can not taking any risk", he told VTM News.
